Ensuring a Safe Church for All

The Scottish Episcopal Church is committed to making sure that every person—especially children, young people, and vulnerable adults—feels safe, respected, and valued in every part of church life.

Our Commitment to Safeguarding

As a diocese, we are committed to:

  • Creating welcoming and secure spaces for everyone.

  • Preventing abuse, harm, or neglect of any kind.

  • Responding swiftly and appropriately to any safeguarding concerns.

  • Supporting survivors and those affected by harm.

  • Providing clear guidance and ongoing training to all those involved in ministry and leadership.

Scottish Episcopal Church Safeguarding Policy

Our safeguarding practices are based on the official policies of the Scottish Episcopal Church. These policies guide our actions and provide practical steps to ensure safety and accountability at every level.
